Good Day to you all,
Have you had a chance to see the new MVCS website yet? If not, take a peek: mvcs.info (mvcsschool.com works too.)
We added a “Portrait of a Graduate” under “Prospective Students.” Today I want to share how this plays out for our core values, as these drive how we educate your current students for impact. I am calling it a “Portrait of a Student.”
First let us review:
MVCS Mission Statement
To glorify God by preparing students for college and for life through a program of academic excellence established in Biblical Truth.
Educating for Impact (and by impact we mean for Jesus!)
Christ-Centered: We will provide a Biblical worldview in and through all areas of study that will equip students to honor God with their whole heart, mind, soul, and strength. Luke 10:27
Love: We will live out our faith by being compassionate and sensitive to the needs of all at our school, in the community and around the world, so students can see and learn by our love. Everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher. Luke 6:40
Learners: We will never stop learning to fulfill the created purpose of glorifying God by applying ourselves with excellence; This will model the love of learning and provide a program of academic excellence.
Communication: We will provide opportunities for all students to learn to positively engage with others by listening, speaking, and writing, and even to explain their faith to others in gentleness and fear.
Citizens: We will model humility by putting others first and obeying those He has placed in authority over us. This will foster a sense of community in and out of our school.
Collaborators: We will provide opportunities for teamwork, be an inclusive community, and respect the contributions of multiple viewpoints to foster creative and critical thinking, resulting in attaining a goal that is greater than its individual parts.
As we do all this, we will prepare students to be leaders in college and for life.
Please share with others how MVCS can prepare their student to learn, love and lead for Jesus.
May our MVCS community grow,
Head of School
