Monday Monitor

OCT 26 – Monday monitor

Head of School Report

Dear MVCS Family,

Your Mid Vermont Board and I are praying “to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” Ephesians 3:20

We are heading into a season of scholarship fundraising.  Between remote online learning, using our outdoor space more frequently, and our great desire for our community to be lights for Jesus throughout our spheres of influence, we thought the perfect campaign name would be “Beyond the Classroom.”

We need your prayer support!

Monday, November 2nd is being designated as this year’s day of prayer for Mid Vermont Christian School.  We are asking our faculty, staff, students, parents, grandparents, and anyone who knows our school to petition the Lord for MVCS.

Would you pray throughout the day for:

  • The transformation of students’ hearts
  • Biblical worldview to be soundly taught throughout the curriculum by our faculty and staff
  • Wisdom for parents to guide their children in the ways of the Lord
  • Health of our school community
  • Continued growth of enrollment and the school’s long-term financial sustainability
  • Wisdom for the School Board as it directs the school
  • Local churches and the Widow’s Mite program, which works through the churches to support parents financially in providing a unique scholastic opportunity at MVCS

Please, would you join us in vigilant prayer on Monday, November 2nd? Set your alarms to pray throughout the day.  “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16 (KJV)  Please find a list of churches, faculty and staff, and families below.

We look forward to seeing what the Lord will do!

In Christ,

Vicky Fogg

Veterans Day Elementary School Chapel

For our annual Veterans Day Elementary chapel, the students will be creating a card for a special veteran.  If you have a connection with a veteran (or two or three!) in your family, your church, or your neighborhood, we would love to thank that veteran for his or her service. Please e-mail this information by November 1st to Miss Blessing at cblessing@mvcs.info:

  • Your child’s name
  • The veteran’s name
  • The veteran’s branch, if you know it
  • Should we return the card to you for delivery?
  • An address if we should mail it.

Mr. Ralph’s Corner

The weeks in October are just flying by, huh? This is the last one, ending with Halloween on Saturday. I never was a big fan of Halloween, with the skeletons and witches and all that. I do enjoy a nicely carved Jack-O-Lantern here and there.

The full moon comes on Saturday which means it’s a hunter’s moon, and coincides with the early VT muzzleloader season – that starts this Thursday and runs through Sunday. Remember, doe permits only! This is the second full moon of October, and for some unforeseen reason it makes the animals move around in the woods. The deer are active, and the geese take notice and start gettin’ out of town – so to speak!

I signed up for a pie-in-the-face event on Friday afternoon here at school, and I’m starting to get scared. Never done it before – does it hurt? Do I have to wear a mask? Do I stand still, or do they have to chase me? Guess I’ll find out!

Don’t forget – the state cross country meet is this coming weekend at Thetford Academy, and we have some top notch runners this year. I don’t know what the spectator rules are, but get out there if you can!

Have a great week!

Mr. Ralph

Dr. George and Darlene Matzko, Bob Jones University Science Ambassadors, wowed our students and staff with amazing science demonstrations last week! Their presentation, “God’s Unseen Creation Revealed in Science,” helped us all feel more connected to the Lord and deepened our understanding of how science is dependent on God’s rule and reign! Thank you to the Matzko’s for sharing the love of Christ with our school and teaching our students how to use science to defend the faith!
