Head of School
Mrs. Fogg is married to Nelson and has 3 grown daughters and one grandson. She graduated from the University of Vermont with a MA in psychology and continue on to get an MBA at Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business, in NYC. Even though she did not begin her working career in Education, she found as she began homeschooling her children, she loved it and went on to receive her Vermont Teaching License. After accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior in April of 2001, she took the Preschool Director and Teacher position here at MVCS in the fall of 2002. Mrs. Fogg loves to be outside walking, hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking and other fun activities. She loves to read historical books, like Eric Metaxas’ Bonhoeffer book, and do science experiments with her grandson.
Mrs. Farrell is the Academic Administrative Assistant and has been at MVCS for 27 years. She grew up on a strawberry farm with wonderful parents, five siblings (one sister and four brothers) and many animals. She fell in love with God very early in her life, thanks to her parents’ godly influence, as well as the pastors, youth leaders, and other godly mentors at her church. Mrs. Farrell’s husband, Kevin, was her high school sweetheart and they have been married for almost 37 years. The Farrell’s now have three incredible grown children and five amazing grandchildren that they love to spend time with. Their loving dog, Clover, keeps them company when they are home alone. In her spare time, Mrs. Farrell loves to read, hike, quilt, crochet, and watch the Red Sox.
Mrs. Loiselle and her husband, Brian, have two adult children and Anna who is an 11th grader here at MVCS and two grandchildren. Brian (an Army veteran), Anna and her have lived overseas where they served as “missionaries” to the military in Okinawa and in Germany for a total of nine years. While overseas, one of Mrs. Loiselle’s joys was writing, teaching and speaking at women’s retreats. While in Okinawa, she taught Sr. High students Bible and cooking classes at Okinawa Christian School International. The Loiselle’s have also served as pastors in the U.S., retiring from full-time pulpit ministry in 2018. Mrs. Loiselle’s favorite pastime is reading and playing card games with her family. This year, this Scripture has been a focus for her: “But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” James 3:17-18. And as most MVCS students can attest, she loves potato chips!
Mrs. Adams teaches first and second grade at MVCS and has been married to Philip J. Adams for 49 years. She has four children, who are wonderful gifts from God and means of His grace, and ten grandchildren. She is retiring after this year and will probably sleep for two years, but the Lord is her good Father same as always. She likes to read biographies, quilt, walk, garden, and play with her grandchildren. Mrs. Adams’ most impressive achievements have been staying married and still loving each other, raising four godly children (who weren’t always that way), teaching for 37.5 years, writing an agricultural grant, and being Teacher of the Year.
Erva Barnes II
Physical Education & Athletic Director
Mr. Barnes came to MVCS this year as the new Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director. He is married to Noelle Barnes, and together they live on his family’s farm in Piermont, NH. A few of his goals at MVCS include creating a safe and exciting atmosphere where kids can explore physical fitness and promoting an excellent and God-honoring athletic program. Spurred on by his Bachelors in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems from UNH, Mr. Barnes hopes to revitalize his family’s farm into a vibrant and diverse, multi-enterprise farm that feeds people highly nutritious and real food, teaches others about the food system, and celebrates the God-given purpose and beauty of all living things. Mr. Barnes is a big fan of the Celtics and basketball in general, and he still likes to talk about that old three-point contest he won in high school. He is an avid reader, and absolutely loves half and half – he will drink it straight, no need for the coffee.
Art & Marketing Coordinator
Mrs. Barnes joined the MVCS community this year alongside her husband, pictured above! She teaches Art and is the Marketing Coordinator. She received her Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Hampshire and ministered to college students through Cru during her six years there. She met Erva, her husband, while they were part of Cru and they got married in July of 2017. She has been a performer and artist her whole life, but also loves to play sports and be in the great outdoors. Two interesting facts about Mrs. Barnes: She loves doing impersonations and also knows American Sign Language! A few of her favorite things include horses, dogs, sunflowers, tennis, cold brew coffee, interior design, and cooking (especially cuisine that calls for cheese).
Jr/Sr High Math
Mr. Bishop has been teaching Math at MVCS’ Jr/Sr High since the fall of 2011. A math education major from Cedarville University, he started his teaching career in Chicago Public Schools, prior to moving out east. He enjoys getting outdoors and playing sports with friends. One perk of the math teaching position is celebrating Pi Day each year – even kids who don’t like math can enjoy a good pie!
Miss Blessing graduated from Messiah College with a BS in Elementary Education and University of South Carolina with a Masters in Elementary Curriculum. A favorite Bible verse of hers is Philippians 4:8 because she wants to grow to think more like Christ each day. It reads “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” She loves to sing with her family, read, swim at sunrise at her local lake, smell the balsam at the top of Cannon Mountain, and take trips to the coast of Maine in the winter. One of Miss Blessing’s most life impacting choices was spending seven summers serving on a mission team to Nova Scotia, Canada, leading Bible clubs and weeks of camp plus mentoring team members in teaching children. She is wild about teaching, and having the privilege to shepherd young hearts at MVCS is her dream come true.
Jr/Sr High Foreign Language
A Dartmouth grad, Miss Fleck came to MVCS ten years ago to teach French and Spanish. Along with her love of languages, Miss Fleck enjoys playing music, hiking, baking, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. One of her favorite aspects of teaching at MVCS is traveling internationally with her students – weekend trips to Quebec City with French students, and 10-day mission trips to Guatemala with any students up for an adventure!
Mrs. Fullerton is our Preschool and Kindergarten teacher. She has been married to Craig Fullerton for 10 years this year! She has three kids: Morgan 8, Mark 6, and Mabel 3. Her goals and aspirations are to continue to grow in her knowledge and skills as an Early Childhood educator and continue to glorify God in all she does. Mrs. Fullerton enjoys hiking, running and being outside, spending time with family and friends, baking, and taking photos. She also enjoys 80’s music and spontaneous dance parties in her kitchen with her kids.
Mrs. Holleran is the music teacher at MVCS. She teaches General Music, Choir, Guitar, Music Theory, Chapel, and Band. In her spare time, she likes composing, calling country dances, biking, sewing quilts, and having tea in her cottage garden. She is a mother of six children, ages 19-29. Her husband is a consulting forester. Little known fact about Mrs. Holleran: she recorded a music album of Bible verses set to music for children, called To This Generation.
Mrs. Horner teaches Preschool and Kindergarten at MVCS. She is married to Phil Horner, and together they have raised five children. Her biggest goal is to live the life that God created her to live, trusting and obeying Him and loving others. She likes to run, read, sing, play the piano, have meaningful conversations and travel in her spare time. Her greatest achievements have been raising five wonderful kids and being happily married for 37 years. An interesting fact about Mrs. Horner is that she has ten brothers and sisters. She has also recently completed two triathlons!
Mr. Nelson came to MVCS this year and currently teaches 5th and 6th grades. He is married to Wendy Nelson and together they have three children, ages 22, 17, and 8. His goals and aspirations are to continue learning about God’s creation everyday. He likes to hike and continue to learn and do new things. Mr. Nelson holds two Master’s Degrees and the humble experience of being a father three times. One of his favorite hobbies is collecting coins.
Mr. Ralph is MVCS’ maintenance/custodial extraordinaire of 26 years. He is married to Thelma, and together they have six children and 11 grandchildren. His aspirations in life are to be a godly man and treat everyone with love and respect, to cherish Thelma, his kids, and his grandkids knowing that each day he has on this earth is a gift, and to never have to learn how to use a computer – so far, so good! Mr. Ralph likes to hunt, fish, work in his gardens, and spend time with family. One of his biggest achievements was bagging a turkey, three deer, and catching a huge striped bass all in the same year.
Jr/Sr High Bible & Guidance
Rev. Dr. Schwamb is the Director of Spiritual Formation & Guidance/Bible Teacher. He is married to Heather and has four grown children and two absolutely adorable grandchildren. Dr. Scwamb enjoys reading the theological works of the Puritans and caring for the spiritual needs of others. He considers himself a Spurgeonite (someone with an avid interest in everything related to Charles Haddon Spurgeon).
Jr/Sr High English
Mrs. Sottosanti holds her MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the University of New Hampshire. As an undergrad, she studied English with a concentration in Writing & Film Studies. Upon graduating, she worked as a campus minister, writing mentor, and ballet instructor in New Hampshire’s Seacoast. At MVCS, Mrs. Sottosanti’s courses are reading and writing-intensive and focus on developing skills in critical thinking, analytical reading, professional writing, and creative expression. Mrs. Sottosanti’s teaching is fueled by her own passion for writing as an author. Her award-winning work has been published in numerous nationally-acclaimed literary journals, and one day, she plans to publish many books. You can find her revising her memoir, browsing titles at the local bookstore, dancing ballet, drinking too much coffee, or learning much-needed wisdom from her husband, Scott. They live in Hanover, NH and serve as interns with Christ Redeemer Church.
Jr/Sr High History
Mrs. Tobin has been married for about a year and a half to her husband, Levi. They recently moved to Grantham from Ohio where Levi is originally from. In her free time she loves to cook, knit, read books, collect antiques, and play with her cat, Tux. She graduated from Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education and Biblical Studies as well as a minor in History.
Jr/Sr High Science
Mrs. Yohe attended Bucknell and Quinnipiac, completed her senior research project at Yale University, and holds a B.S. in Clinical Chemistry. She married her husband, Herbert, in 1974. In her spare time she likes to read, swim, kayak, work with wood, make miniatures, quilt, and make cards. She also teaches preschool Sunday School and VBS, and leads women’s Bible studies. One quuirky fact about Mrs. Yohe: the day she met her husband at the Hershey Medical Center they suctioned gray matter from a bovine brain together!
